This 6 days all Uganda primate tour will expose you to the great chimpanzees of Kibale forest the worlds primate capital as you enjoy the great rain forests cool weather. The wildlife in Queen Elizabeth national park with great sightings of big elephant herds, buffalos, kobs, hyenas, lions, leopards among others and the aquatic animals viewed while on a boat cruise like crocodiles and hippos. The tour is concluded with the visit to the great apes in Bwindi impenetrable forest.

Detailed itenery

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After having your early morning breakfast, you will depart Entebbe with your expert guide who will provide knowledge and assistance throughout your journey. Through mubende a journey of 340 kms you will reach fort portal in 5-6 hours. You will then proceed to your lodge for lunch. Have lunch and later check in for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking activity and in the afternoon visit the Bigodi Swamp

Have an early morning breakfast as you prepare to spend the morning tracking the chimpanzee families in the Kibale forest. Tracking chimpanzees in their natural habitat, as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor, is a thrilling experience. Though they can be difficult to spot, you will be in no doubt of their presence as the forest is alive with their noisy calls. In the afternoon, explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. The reserve is abundant with butterflies, plants, animals and, in particular, birds. Spectacular birds like Great Blue Turaco and rare Papyrus Gonolek will be of great interest to birders.

The swamp is also home to more elusive animals such as Red Colobus monkeys and Sitatunga antelope. There is also the opportunity to visit local community projects that have been financed by tourism. In the evening enjoy pre-dinner drinks on the terrace with its stunning views. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your breakfast in the morning, you will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park.  You will take the Kasese road where you will enjoy the stunning views from the Rwenzori mountains. Have a stopover at the equator for photo moments as you proceed to mweya for lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat launch. On the boat you expect to see a lot of animals by the lake side. You expect to see many schools of hippos, crocodiles and some of the land animals that come by the lake to quench thirst and take a bath such as elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, and warthogs among others. The boat ride normally takes 2 hours of great views. After the boat, you may alternatively have an evening game drive or proceed to the lodge for dinner relaxation and overnight

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, Depart the Lodge with your packed lunch; you will conduct early morning Game drive in the Kasenyi plains where we expect to see animals like lions, leopards and hyenas that roam the mating grounds of the kobs and other animals. The game drive activity may take 3-4 hours of animal search. Then exit the park to proceed to Bwindi through the northern circuit of the Ishasha sector.You will have your packed lunch along the way as you proceed to Bwindi. Reach early in the evening for relaxation dinner and overnight as you prepare for the next day’s activity.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking

Enjoy an early breakfast; thereafter proceed to the park headquarters for briefing by the Park rangers about the behavioral and ecological aspects of the Gorillas. With your packed lunch, water and other necessities, you will then start on the trekking journey to the gorillas. While trekking for the Gorillas, the rangers will continue explaining to you about other unique aspects about them. This activity may take about 2-6 hours depending on the location and movement of the gorilla families. After allocating where they will be, one hour will be granted to interact with them and take photos. From the forest, you may decide to visit the Batwa communities or relax at the lodge. Later have dinner and overnight at the lodge. (Alternatively you may decide to drive to Lake Bunyonyi after gorilla tracking for evening chills by the lake side and overnight stay.)

Day 6: Transfer to Entebbe

After your served breakfast, depart for Kampala, this drive takes 8-9 hours of driving. Lunch en-route at Igongocultural center as you proceed to Kampala. You will have a stopover at the equator for photo moments as you complete your tour. Reach Entebbe later in the evening as you prepare for your flight or check in at your lodge depending on your arrangements.
