Any time of the year is convenient to travel to Uganda for some reasons or the other, on different occasions depending on the interests of the client.

About the seasons, Uganda lies in the tropical zone where it sometimes rains during the dry season and the sun also shines during the rainy season. Most activities are not very disrupted by rain since it rarely rains throughout the day which makes any month perfect to visit.

Although Uganda can be visited year round, we think that the best time to visit is during its two dry seasons from December-February and June-September as temperatures are pleasant and there is little chance of rain. This basically may also depend on the activities one is interested in, for example the dry season is favorable for gorilla and chimpanzee treks, whilst game viewing is particularly good towards the end of the dry season as the shortage of water forces wildlife to move and congregate by the rivers and waterholes. Bird watching is best in the rainy months between March to May and October to November due to various migratory patterns however many birds can still be spotted in the rest of the months.  Also because of the global climatic changes, our seasonal predictions are no longer very accurate so normally it’s advisable you talk to our safari experts for easy planning especially now that there is a global change in climate.

If you are a low budget traveler, you may have to target the period when few people are traveling which in this sense are the rainy months which are March to May and October to November. Why so; most of the lodges have discounted rates and most of the tourist services are discounted giving you the opportunity to travel at low budget but meeting your interests.
